Toen Elise ons vertelde dat ze prequels aan het schrijven was voor Air Awakens sprong ik een gat in de lucht. Geen vervolg helaas, maar toch, meer van Baldair, Jax en Erion. Ik was helemaal happy toen ik een ARC kreeg. Ze heeft ze ook aan de Tower Guard opgedragen, zo lief!
The Crown’s Dog begint een paar jaar voor Air Awakens. Mijn hart brak toen ik over de broers las. Er is zo veel gebeurt in de serie dat ik daardoor ook deze prequels meer waardeer denk ik. Je krijgt ook veel meer achtergrond story, ik ben zo blij dat ze hier aan is begonnen.
De Baldair die je hier ziet is de Baldair waar je in het begin van de serie over lees. Hij is opzoek naar zijn eigen plek in de familie. De tweede zoon, de golden boy die in de schaduw van zijn broer leeft, maar here he shows his true colors. Jax is het gestoorde monster met een klein hartje. Ookal leer je veel over zijn geschiedenis als hij Vhalla redt, krijg je hier meer appreciatie voor hem. Zo ook voor Erion, he is the voice of reason voor deze mannen. Liefde voor hem.
Dit verhaal is zo hun. Opzoek naar een ghost Pirate Queen, like lost boys Looking for a treasure on a map. Ook de afwisseling van Erion en Jax point of view is heel slim gedaan hier. Normaal houd ik hier niet zo van, maar hier is het tof.
Ik ben heel benieuwd wat er gebeurd in deel 2 van de Golden Guard: The Prince’s Rogue. Hij komt uit op 7 februari en reken maar dat ik hem gelijk ga lezen.

Sinds een paar maanden koop ik de Fairyloot boxen. Ik was voorheen kei fan van Celebrate Books (nog steeds) maar die kan ik helaas niet naar Londen versturen dus ben ik overgestapt naar Fairyloot. Disney en zeker Frozen is my jam, dus toen ik het thema zag en de illustratie die er bij hoorde was ik helemaal verkocht.
