Doordat ik in het streetteam zit bij Michelle kreeg ik dit boek ook toegestuurd nadat ik deel 1 had gewonnen. Ik was erg benieuwd.
Nadat ik The Prophecy of Shadows had gelezen ging ik eigenlijk gelijk door The Blood of the Hydra. Het las zo makkelijk weg dat het me hielp om toch te blijven lezen ondanks dat ik een beetje in een dipje zit.
Maar buiten het feit dat het makkelijk leest ben ik niet heel weg van dit deel. Deze keer krijgen ze een daadwerkelijke opdracht en zijn daar bijna het hele boek mee bezig. Ze moeten 3 dingen vinden die hun zal helpen om Kerberos weer te sluiten. De opdracht lijkt makkelijker dan het is. Ook is Nicole steeds bezig met haar krachten, ze is enorm bang dat ze gestraft wordt ervoor. Ook weet ze niet wat ze aanmoet met Blake.
Op de een of andre manier pakt dit verhaal me niet echt, terwijl ik wel fan ben van Griekse mythologie. Die delen van het verhaal vind ik ook zeker tof, maar de rest van het verhaal het is net net niet. Deel 1 vond ik nog wel oké, alles is nieuw, maar hier wordt het een beetje saai. Misschien is het gewoon haar schrijfstijl dat mijn niet ligt.
Als ik de volgende delen krijg dan wil je ze graag lezen, maar ik denk niet dat ik ze zou kopen. Overigens zijn deze niet op bol.com verkrijgbaar. Haar andere series wel, daar moet ik nog aan beginnen.
Wat ik wel tof vind zijn de covers. Op iedere cover staat een lid van de Elementals. Vorig deel was het Nicole, en dit deel is het Blake. Ik wil hem iedere keer Christian noemen (Vampire Academy). Normaal houd ik niet zo van gezichten op de cover, maar hier vind ik ze wel uitnodigend.
Als je opzoek bent naar iets voor tussendoor en houd je van Griekse mythologie dan is deze serie een prima keus. Deel 1 kan je nog steeds op de haar site vinden.

Sinds een paar maanden koop ik de Fairyloot boxen. Ik was voorheen kei fan van Celebrate Books (nog steeds) maar die kan ik helaas niet naar Londen versturen dus ben ik overgestapt naar Fairyloot. Disney en zeker Frozen is my jam, dus toen ik het thema zag en de illustratie die er bij hoorde was ik helemaal verkocht.
